    Fir Tree Trafton Park, Malta

A quiet and shady park in Malta, for when you are caught between other places to pitch camp for the night
    Cost was $5/night I believe
Potable water, fairly clean bathrooms, covered picnic shelters, picnic tables scattered about and shade.
    NO electric/showers/WiFi
    Located behind the baseball diamonds

That's a pretty big tent Ken in your second picture. Must be room for a dozen folks inside. LOL
Nice write up, $5/night is great. Thanks!

Actually Jeff, there was a lot of activity going on at the park that day.

That 'tent' was a very large slip n slide with about 25 kids using it as a small neighborhood party was going on. There was also a couple of league championship ball games going on, so I had lots of 'entertainment' that late afternoon/evening!
Nice little park with conveniences close by.

Thanks Dusty; We had found that park and thought it might work nicely for our purposes. We've got quite the route planned and finding some very cool locations for this coming years trip. This is one place that we plan on spending a few nights as a buffer if needed, https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/bitt...a/?recid=60306 Any chance you've been there before?

Bring your mosquito dope . Midsummer they can get really bad. Wife and I stayed there and they carried the wife away but they returned her real quick.
