  • Bugs in Alaska

If any of you folks are thinking of coming to Alaska next summer you should be aware we have some bugs in the summer time and they get to grow large as most things are in Alaska. Here is a photo of my wife petting our state bird

I see that mosquitos are migrating north from Texas.

Ours in Kentucky aren't quite that large, but they are large enough that they have ticks on them!

Glennallen was where we encountered the most of them this summer.

You never know where the bugs will be bad. When we drove up the Dalton we never saw a bug over the summer solstice but a week later riders posting on adventure rider were swarmed. The hatch seems to vary year to year.
