Can't help you with info on the State Park but while in Memphis don't miss the new Bass Pro Shop in the Pyramid

when I was in school at NAS Memphis, 1967, we went there on the weekends. Drank moonshine and threw rock at barges 1/2 mile out on the Mississippi. Didn't really camp but it was a real nice place back then.

My brother is doing his annual summer trip with the wife to visit her relatives in Chicago and she gave him a week's 'kitchen pass' to do whatever. He has a new Chevy Silverado pickup and wants to put a tent on the bed for camping. It is one designed especially for that model truck. Anyway he wanted to meet me halfway between Denver and Chicago. Nothing much going on or to see in the hinterland, so I suggested a stay in Memphis. Beal Street, Graceland, Sun recording studio, mud flats, etc. We agreed that would be a good meet up, even though it will be in the middle of July and probably hotter than Hades .

I will be taking my GL1800/Aspen Classic.

We considered a KOA near Memphis (in Arkansas), but he found what appears to be a real nice State Park 15 miles from Memphis for twenty bucks a night.

So my question is has anyone have any knowledge/experience of this park? Looks to be right beside the mighty Mississippi.
