    Ronsheim Campground, Harrison S.F. (FREE)

As I was reading the campground reviews this morning, I thought I should post a review of Ronsheim Campground at Harrison State Forest. It is located approximately 5 miles north of Cadiz, OH and is convenient to US Route 250. There are 7 sites at this campground, and 20 sites at the horse camp a few miles away, although the horse camp was closed when I was there, so I did not get a chance to check it out.

    The Good:
-No Cost! You just pick a site, walk down to the restroom building, and self-register.
-While the campground is situated on a hill, the paved parking pads are large and level.
-Paved (although a bit bumpy) roads leading to campground.

    The Bad:
-First come, first served. I was here on a Friday night last August and there were only two other sites occupied. If no luck here, Tappan Lake is relatively close, so depending on the direction of your travel, you could use that as a back-up plan.
-Vault latrines (although, they were clean!)
-The sites are small and close together. Since there weren't many people camping here, I chose to camp further up the hill away from the others and it was pretty quiet.
    -No shower facilities.
-You must bring your own water.

Stayed here for 2 nights (Sept 11, 12 2016) after the recent NW PA Camp Out and was on my way to a camp out in IL.

Very quiet, well manicured, with just one other campsite being used and I did see the local constabulary patrol through the campground once.
I followed one trail down to the earthen dam and along the pond shoreline back up to camp.
