    Lake Powhatan, Asheville

This Federally-owned CG is in Asheville next to the NC Arboretum and down the road from the Biltmore Estate. Maggie Valley is an hour away. With Senior Pass it was $11 for site w/o w/s/e. Level campsites. Very quiet after 10 PM. Can swim in lake (fee). Has new bath/showers that were extremely clean. Major gas and supermarkets just outside entrance road as well as shopping and restaurants.

    5th time camping here.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds along the BRP. Lots of privacy and spacing between sites.

Thanks for the CG review! I don't guess I knew of this place. Been up and down the parkway many times and stayed in the Asheville area a lot. I will need to keep this in mind next time I want to stay close to Asheville.
