    Re: Dusty on the road?

    Greetings from Watertown, SD!

Day went well today with great weather for riding.
When I stopped to check out the campsite I was planning on staying at near Granite Falls, MN, I kept moving as it was/is in a floodplain, was wet and I bet a real breeding ground for mosquitoes, so I grabbed a room for the night here in Watertown, SD, some 582 mi/13 hrs (including stops) after I left this morning @ 6:55 EST.
Just means a shorter ride for tomorrow!

Looks like we will see you a little earlier than planned. Rain moving through this area tonight. Should be better by morning.

Don't forget Mark, I'll be taking 2 lanes all the way there, so it'll be well over 8 hr ride time (482 mi) without any stops.
I'll time it for after you two get home from work.

Sounds good. I know all those roads way to well. Made a lot of trips across SD

    We will see you then.

So Dusty...where do you plan on going after you pick up the camper? Are you going to continue heading west?

    Unfortunately no, Pat.
G wizz, Whatever and I had planned on coming out together and then George had medical issues, so I decided I would wonder on home and hopefully do a few mods before hitting the road for 3 weeks with it, tying in 3 camp outs in 3 successive weekends in Sept, starting with the Western PA one

Pat .... I was hoping to get out that way next year, although that seems unlikely at this point as one of my twin daughters is planning on getting married next year .... so there goes the travel funds.
Year after seems like the most probable case ..... maybe by then you'll decide to call a western MT Camp Out!

That's a long days ride on those 2 lane roads. My wife's grand parents lived on a farm at Granite Falls so we have run across the UP on US2 heading to or from Granite many times.
