    FWTBT,
Looks like a great bag -- and a good idea. I'll check out something similar here. Thanks.

    Ripshod,
Thanks for the tip about avoiding a 34" duffel bag. Checked -- and you were right -- it would sag a bit!

    Dusty Boots,
Thanks for the tip. Checked out the Kermit chair site -- and that baby really packs small! Like that -- now, just have to get over the pricey part.

    IndyDon,
Not sure -- but your bike looks like a Burgman 400 -- which is what I have. Seeing your setup makes me want to rethink packing "sideways." It obviously works for you. Thanks.

    menhir,
Thanks for the feedback. Have the ROK straps -- thanks to the many tips on this site. Much better than bungie cords.

    Ironheadziggy76,
Thanks! The chair I am thinking about folds up and goes into its own bag with straps. And, from what I've seen here so far, the length should not be a problem. (I hope.)

While I'm a huge fan of the Kermit, you should take Izzy's advice, find the chair you want. Then work out a way to make sure it gets to your campsite. If it ain't a Kermit, that's fine. Your butt is the decider.

Yes it is an 06. Loading sidewise with the duffel also gives me a backrest. Just make sure not to put anything hard on the side closest to me. That was the way it was loaded heading to the Tetons.

That is a very nice chair.... I may sell my Cabela's chair and get one of those.
