    Codorus State Park, Hanover, PA

    Codorus State Park campground review

Clean, clean, clean, that about sums it up. Aside from how clean it was, heated bath rooms...how cool is that?!

We stayed in B Loop, site 71, an electric site, very wooded with tall shade trees, but not much under growth to give a sense of privacy.
As an out-of-stater we paid $31 per nite for an electric site. A centrally located heated bathhouse had flush toilets, plenty of hot water, soap dispenser, electric hand dryers and paper towels, 2 of each (showers, toilets, urinals). Did I mention this place was CLEAN?!

Time of visit was third weekend of October, 2013. The fall is a great time of year to visit this area. The leaves are turning color, plus you get to see all the farms up close without the odor being too profound.

There are plenty of "roads less traveled" in this area. On Saturday we rode approx 110 miles before we hit a traffic light, we took in 9 covered bridges, and enjoyed miles of twisties over rolling hills through woods and farmland. Exhilarating!

Brings back childhood memories . I was born in Hanover and grandma had a beautyfull 300ac farm with a covered bridge over the river to her farm , just past Klunk's mill. I will now plan a trip to camp at the park ,thanks for the trip down memory lane .

Bet you're glad you already out of the area... last night got down to low 30's and a high in the low 50's for the day. I've ridden through that area a bunch, it's on my way from Lancaster to parts west on bike trips but the thought never crossed my mind to go camping that close to home. Glad you had a good time.

We had pretty good fall weather, low 40's overnight, mid 60's for the high. We did have about 30 minutes of rain Saturday night, just as we were cooking up dinner. While we may have gotten wet, our spirits weren't dampened.

Will be doing most likely our last camping trip for the year beginning next week.. Since we are taking Willow (the pooch), it won't be on two wheels this time. Will report if the place is still as clean since it's been a couple years since the last report. Also, will be doing a number of the trails, doing some hiking! More to follow!
