Sibley Lake Campground - Bighorn Nat Forest

Here's a quiet little campground, located between Sheridan and Lovell, high in the Bighorn Mtns, close to Burgess Junction, where Hwys 14 and 14A (Medicine Wheel Passage) seperate. This place makes for a great overnight stop if heading to/from Yellowstone NP, The Beartooth/Chief Joseph Scenic Byways, or if exploring the immediate area.

It is located 1/2 mile off of Hwy 14, at the top of a fairly steep gravel road (good condition) and has two loops. The one on the left where I stayed has 9 sites with no electric. Just a hundred feet further on is the other loop on the right, which has 15 sites with electric. Both loops have picnic tables, fire rings on each site, with a potable water spigot and a vault toilet for each loop.
Situated among Lodgepole Pines, there isn't much understory, so privacy isn't that good, but it is very quiet here, with deer roaming throughout the campground.
Nearby is Bear Lodge Resort, which has fuel, a good restaurant and a bar, which serves extremely cold draft beer.
There are a lot of Moose up in this section of the Bighorns, so exercise caution while riding around here.

That is a great ride Ken. We ride through there several times a year but have never camped there. Agree on the Bear Lodge Resort, sometimes we ride up there for a great lunch when we have a free afternoon.
