Nebraska Tailwaters Campground, - Lewis and Clark Lake

This A.C.E. campground is along the southern shore of the Missouri River, just east of Gavin Dam and a short distance away from Yankton, SD. There aren't a whole lot of campgrounds along the SD/NB state line area, so this immediate area is a bit of a refuge.

I have visited/stayed at this campground twice and found it very quiet both times
Laid out mostly for the RV crowd, there are a few walk in tent sites at the one end of the campground, which requires a very short walk to the sites.
At the other end of the campground, the 1st 9 'sites' are non electric and there is a large grassy area behind the parking spots under the large Cottonwoods and is considered a tent only area, where you can set a tent. Better than what it sounds/my description
Picnic tables, fire rings, potable water, flush toilets, hot showers. Electric if you want it for extra cost.
The 2nd time I visited here, the Missouri River was in flood and the area between where we stayed and the Shower House is located, was under water, so they only charged us $6 for the night. We still had access to water and the flush toilets.

Supplies are a short drive away, available in Yankton. also just minutes away, there is also a great Steak House, offering an all you can eat Buffet for $11.99 (at time of posting), called Jo Dean's
