I've stayed at Steel Steeds several times .... we went to the bar just up the road a pace in the evenings, listened to the live entertainment, and got

Do they have marked-off, assigned campsites or do you just pull in and pitch camp wherever you find a spot?

Green states, camped in - Orange states, ridden in.

Just pull in and pitch when I was there, but the owner was changing the place at the time, so don't know now.

    Hi:
This is Diane, one of the owners of Steel Steeds. If you are primitive camping, you can just pull in and camp. If you need water/electric, we have sites. We have kept it reasonably priced.

We also have RVs for rent and cabins too (check out www.steelsteedscamp.com). We provide linens, blankets, towels for our accommodations if you ride in. There is a biker friendly tavern at the end of the campground for cold libations. Or bring your own. And the riding around us is totally awesome. From twisties to farmland, we have it all.

If this gets scheduled when I can attend, I am there!

I went last time with my (American) Legion Riders chapter, and it was a great time. We had a big fire in the "barrel" and copious beer and music.

I cannot drink alcohol anymore since I had my innards worked on, but I might just drink a shot glass of whiskey or something for old times sake and pay the price later.
