It seems like Where ever I camp there's a fast food restaurant. It's almost like it's planned.

For a real pick up I'll wolf down a small box of raisens with a 12 oz bottle of orange juice. Talk about a sugar HIGH

For me, it would be either jerky, or squaw candy.

I make my own mix too.

2 parts nuts (any one or combination you like)
    1 part dry apricots, chopped
    1/2 part sesame sticks

The apricots are very low sugar but provide sweetness and some carbs along with the sesame sticks.

Hubby makes bacon jerky and beef jerky and that's low carb and good too.

Craisins are pretty good specially in the cherry flavor. Most of the time I have a trail mix of nuts, mm's and dried fruit consisting of pineapple, bananas and raisins. Probably will start mixing in the craisins too.

I know it is going to sound weird, but, I had a chance to make one of my Favorite snacks while on the road - and it was so simple, and easy, and YUMMY i have to share.
Oh, and the clean up consisted of simply licking off my knife

slices of avocado, salt & pepper, on a slice of toasted whole wheat bread.
