    Tent Stone Mountain SP

This park is located along the BRP just south of the Virginia State line. We had planned to spend the night at one of the BRP campgrounds but it was closed due to parkway construction. Stone Mountain SP is conveniently located where the BRP intersects US Hwy 21.

We stayed here in late May and we had our choice of camp sites. The facilities were clean and well kept. The staff, what few we saw, were friendly & helpful. They do sell firewood bundles at the check in station for a reasonable price. All of the sites had a gravel parking pad and a level tent pad picnic tale and fire ring.

GF and I stayed at SMTP just before Memorial Weekend. Nice, clean campsites and bathhouses. Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. There are plenty of hiking trails in and around that CG. Make sure you take the one to the falls - it's worth the time (30-45 minutes). Did I mention the area is beautiful?

Yes they do. 41 walk-in/drive-in sites. www.ncparks.gov has info and maps.
