Thread: Jalama Beach

    Jalama Beach

Beautiful Central Coast California. Mid-July stay found us in a windy but enjoyable spot. The facilities are well maintained by on-site host's. Fire rings and electricity, a restaurant and store are available. The views and lack of Cell Reception are wonderful.
A nice ride from the Pacific Coast Highway (about 14 miles) to the Coast.
A few extra tent pegs and line to brace from the wind are the only extra preps I'd make for the next visit.

Not only is this a really nice campground, the 14 mile road from Hwy 1 is a purely country road with great turns..
This is a Santa Barbara County Park and (1st come 1st served) well you can imagine that people are lineing up to camp here early in the week to be able to camp the weekend..

Great place.. and Dang good Burgers at the store..

We live close to this campground and love the twisty ride from 1 out to the beach. They are making a few changes out there regarding reservations, so check the latest before heading out. We like to ride out on a little 80 mile loop on a Saturday or Sunday and have a burger out there. The Rangers will let you into the campground but you now need to show a receipt of at least 8.00 at the store per rider and they just give you an hour. Kinda picky but at least they let you in. So many Calif. campgrounds now no longer let you even pull through. Jon

We stayed here one night in September, 2013. Nice beach, great ride in from Hwy 1 (watch for deer), and you really must try the burgers at the little restaurant.

It was full mid-week in September, so I'd highly recommend using the reservation system (Google will find it for you) because it's a lengthy ride in and out if it's getting late.
