Fir Tree DeGray Lake Resort & State Park, Bismark Arkansas

    Location:
    DeGray Lake Resort State Park
    2027 State Park Entrance Road
    Bismarck, Arkansas 71929

    Date of visit:
    July 10th -15th 2011

    Weather:
Hotter than blue blazes! Southern Plains gripped in a massive heat wave

    Campground Condition:
This is a large park. The Resort Lodge was excellent though I didn't stay there. The camp grounds are pretty well kept but could be a bit more level for folks towing a camper. Showers were clean and well kept.

The entrance road is really rough. Old Chip seal that is breaking apart. This is true for a good part of the park roadways.

    Area Attractions:
Hot Springs National Park is about 15 mies north on AR 7.
Crater of Diamonds State Park is about 25 miles away.
Quachita National Forest is NW of the area.

    Area Riding:
Lots of nice rides throughout the area. AR 7 is always popular. I also recomment the road leading the National Park Observation Tower.
Really, one can pick and choose several rides.

Good report. Stayed there in October, 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was a lot cooler then!
