This is a little gem of a park which was not very busy when I stayed here for 2 nights(Sept 25-26/09)
Located just north of Bellevue, IA this park is divided into 2 loops, with the majority of campsites along either Spruce Creek, or along the Mississippi River.
I stayed in the 2nd loop, which has gravel parking aprons($15/night), so I could get a site close to the Mississippi River.
There are showers and flush toilets in the 1st loop, but only a disgusting vault toilet for the 2nd, but it is a fairly short walk to the showers/flush toilets via a foot bridge across Spruce Creek.
There is a 'Camp Host' who sells firewood. All the sites are large and shaded and have a picnic table, fire ring, hydro, water spigots scattered around the park. The dumpster is located near the entrance oto the park There is also free WiFi, but the signal is fairly weak. There are laundry facilities in the nearby town of Bellevue, along the north west side the gas station, at the southern end of town, just before the bridge.
Although far from any roads that there is no traffic noise, there is a set of railway tracks that run along the western edge of the park, with the odd train running by. I can't remember that the trains were obtrusive when sleeping.
Although there were just RVs here when I camped, mostly for the fishing I presume, as there are docking facilites and a boat ramp, but I don't recall any generators running at night.
Great views of the Mississippi.
