This campground is owned and operated by the City of Baxter Springs, Kansas. It's a bare bones basic site with porta-potties and no other facilities. There is a $5 fee per night and a $10 fee if you're using the electric hook ups (3 or 4?).

The campground is small and unattended though I suspect the cops cruise through once or twice a night. It's on the east side of town on the south side of US 166 along the Spring River. I think the camping part was more an afterthought to the fishing rather that designed as a camp ground.

That being said, it was quiet and virtually deserted when we were there in late March. It's a good place to put up your tent on the way to somewhere else, but to stay any length of time? I think I'd go the extra few miles into Missouri or south into Oklahoma and find someplace there.
