Given my last camping adventure (Details here), you could add "Red Ants" to this list!

What about all the wildlife in Australia? We saw a bunch of very different birds, animals, lizards, etc. last fall/winter (their spring/summer).

Couple of years ago, we were camping on Chincoteague Island in Virginia and a horse stuck its head into our tent.

    Re: Critter Poll....

I was driving my car near Lacrosse WI on the interstate and what did I see, but a Giraffe going about the speed limit on the other side of the road. The east and west bound lanes were quite a distance from each other and all I saw was its head and neck. I had a CB radio (it was in the 1970s when everyone had one) so I said "Did I see a Giraffe?"

Sure did said the other driver. Told me he was transporting from one zoo to another using a u-haul trailer of all things. Who woulda thunk it? I asked if he had to leave the interstate each time he approached an overpass. He told me that he wrapped a hankie (actually a blankie) around the poor thing's neck as it was supposedly getting a sore throat from the wind!

Probably don't need a Giraffe on this list. I'm thinking it was a one time shot

We sometimes camp at Assateague Island in VA and on the last trip we had one pesky horse that kept rummaging around our campsite, including poking his head inside our RAH! This particular horse followed me and when it stuck its head inside I was ready with my fiberglass stick. When it realized it was about to get hit it backed out and went on about it's way and left us alone.

The horses on Assateague Island are very smart. I actually saw mama turn on the faucet so the little guy could get a drink of water.
