I overnight camped here, while attending the evening stop for 2019 Cross Country Chase in Urbana Illinois. The campground was located about 26 miles east Urbana IL just off of Interstate 74. This was kinda handy for my plan, as the next morning I would be riding into Indiana and heading south to Evansville IN for Mondaysí Cross Country Chase lunch stop at Budís Harley Davidson.

I pitched camp ($10.00 per night) in the tent camping area with no electric. (I think electric sites are $20.00 per night) Water could be had at the scattered about water spigots. Nice well mowed grassy tent sites with shade trees. Picnic table and fire rings were fixtures at each site. To get to the restroom/shower facilities it was a bit of a hike, as there were no restrooms in the immediate area of where I camped. So, instead of walking to the shower house, I rode my bike. The shower house was clean and well lit. There were 2 shower stalls with the push-button type pre-set temp/time water controls, 1 toilet, 1 urinal, 2 sinks with mirrors and a blower hand dryer.

According to the website Kickapoo SRA has a total of 2 shower houses and 184 campsites with half of them having electrical hookups. You can rent bicycles, canoes and paddleboards. There is a camp store as well. Would I camp here again?? Sure! I give it !!

As a side note, the CG is only 3 miles off Interstate 74 at exit #206. At this exit there is a Pilot Travel Center with restaurant, Loves Truck stop with Hardees, Subway, McDonalds and a place called Pitstop Bar & Grill. Next door to the McDonalds is a Dollar general store. All of this is really handy for the traveler just passing thru, needing a place to camp for the night and grab something to eat.
About 10 miles east of Kickapoo SRA is Danville Illinois. Danville offers more places to eat, a Kawasaki dealer, Walmart, automotive part stores, etc.. And for Veterans, there is a VA health care facility located in Danville.

Here a few photos of the CG and some pics of the 2019 Cross Country Chase.

Gary, I see Butch fairly regular. He is still riding but, not as much these days.
Yes, I really miss Frankie. He was a really good friend of mine. I have to go by the place on Broadway where the accident happened every day on my way to work. So there is not a day goes by that I don't think of him.
Gary, I don't know if you had ever met Franks wife Pam or not but, to let you know she is doing OK. She really had it tuff for a while but, she met a good guy and got re-married.
