Re: Dang you Meach and Ripshod.........

    Hey Guys,
Thanks for the ribbing and to answer a few questions:
    - Yes it was a quick purchase but I have been wanting an ADV Bike since I returned from Alaska so it’s been on my mind. Just learning of the low cost combined with seeing and getting to ride a few at Hunt’s made me pull the trigger. After the Post Chill ride, I zig zagged back to Ga and hit several dealers for new and used. I looked at several through Craigslist in Asheville, Charlotte and this one happened to be 10 miles from home in Atl.
    - It’s a 2012 DL650A with 8k miles.
    - Has Heidenau Scout off road tires so I’m LOOKING FOR RECOMMENDATIONS for street skins.
    - In addition to the items in my OP, it has a 2” riser on the handle bar and power outlet.
    - Yes I remember and enjoyed riding with Carl.
    - Yes I have the HD covered but it’s always my Leesure Lite and Tammie tow ride.
    - Yes, bad influences everywhere but sometimes bad can be fun.
    - No, I wasn’t up for riding it home. Not man enough for a maiden voyage in 5 o’clock Atlanta traffic.
    - Yes, pretty big smile!
    - Yes, I’m trying to plan a trip soon, who’s up for another pop-up camp and ride in North Ga, NC or TN??
    - No, and thank God it DOESNT HAVE A REVERSE…………………

That's just fantastic! It looks really good. just like mine, in fact.

Mine is going in for a 2" vibe-reducing riser installation, along with a new front brake line and a throttle lock like the one Groundhog has. Pretty soon I'll have it the way I want it.

Welcome to one of the deepest aftermarkets out there.

Jim, that is a fine looking VStrom!! You are gonna enjoy it a bunch! Everyone around my area that own one, loves riding them. I have been very very hesitant to take one for a ride as I really don't need to be bitten by the Strom bug! LOL

Congrats on the new addition. You know, if you leave the 2 of them alone together for very long there will be a 3rd! Kind of like coat hangers.....

Jerry I was looking at Rox risers and came across these that are actually made by Rox, I think I will go with these if I can find a matching sissy bar to go out back!
