5802 Trimble Park Dr, Mt. Dora, Florida. (352-383-1993)

this is a Orange County Park with 17 camping sites. All sites are level, fairly large, shaded (pine and live oak trees). Not much privacy between sites. During my stay only 2 sites were tent camping, rest were large RVs and 1 really nice old VW camper. Located between Lake Carlton and Lake Beauclair imagine mosquitoes would be an issue during the summer. One main trail (1/2 mile?) with a couple of boardwalks. Plenty of fishing areas and plenty of fishermen present. Very Florida with "Beware of snakes and gator" signs posted everywhere.

Wanted to spend a couple more days but sites were booked for the next 7 nights. $17.25 night as out-of-state- senior rate. Firewood was available but don't remember how much so must not have been too much. Place is very quiet day and night. Showers (6) clean and hot.

Couple of miles to Mt Dora, a small but busy town, Tourist orientated town with many small shops. Another 12 miles is Tavares, Fl with a nice park with sea-plane operators, boat tours and train rides.

Howey-In-the-Hills , maybe 20 miles east of campgrounds has a couple of nice rides, Green Mtn and Sugarloaf Mts summit (in Indiana they would both be called hills, but it's Florida). 30 miles north to Ocala National Forest, something like 50 miles to Daytona, and 40 miles north of Orlando

Overall a nice place in an interesting area.
