This is a very small, quiet national forest campground along the Cabinet Gorge Reservoir in western MT
It's accessed by a short (~1/3 mi) hard packed gravel road with a couple of drainage/run off pipes half sunk going across the road and a sharp short uphill climb into the 5 shady campsites here, each with their own bear boxes, picnic tables and fire rings.
There is one set of vault toilets easily accessed from the campsites. About a 3 min walk down to the river's edge
No electric/showers/WiFi and there is also NO potable water, so bring your own.
This is also a pack it in, pack it out campground.
I got the last available site when I visited there this past July 23. It looked like 1 campsite was occupied by a few 'campers' that had been living there for a while. (?)
Oh ya, it's also FREE
