Working my way back into the game

I have reached that time in life that I have heard about but didn't expect to get to. I'm still working but the kids are grown and I've got a little time and not a lot but some play money. I decided to get back on the road after a 26 year break and see if it's still as much fun as it once was. I never had time to do any camping before so now I plan to give it a shot. I've got a trailer and gear to haul in it so I plan to start with some one or two night runs pretty quick. I've been looking at camp trailers if this summer works out.
Any tips would be appreciated. It's been a long time coming.LOL

Welcome! You're in the perfect area to return to motocamping. There are so many great places to camp in Texas and the surrounding states. I spent 5 years working for a north Dallas based construction company and loved it! I'm planning a Texas trip for this year, if all goes well. I hope to see you along the way. I believe you are going about it the right way, short 1,2 or 3 day trips, decide what you like and dislike. Then go for it!

Welcome to the forum from Missouri. There are a lot of choices with camping trailers. Since
my wife doesn’t ride or camp I found that a used Mini Mate was a good choice. Attending
some camping events would allow to to see and hear about the Pros and Cons of each.
    Good luck in your search.

Welcome back to biking and to the forum. There's lots of info here. I started riding after a 25 yr gap when the kids were out of the house so I can empathize. I started by camping off the bike with a lot of cheap equipment. A couple of years ago I bought a single wheel trailer to haul more stuff but now my wife isn't too anxious to ride anymore so I might stop using the trailer.

Anyway, you stopped by the right site to talk about motocamping.

Glad to see you at it again. I'm hoping to be in your neck of the woods next month. Been wanting to made a trip to Palo duro canyon state park. Drive safe and watch those other drivers.

Glad you have the chance to get back in the game. One word of caution is that cage drivers are a lot worse today then they were 26 years ago.
