    Possible move this year?

For the past dozen years my wife and I have been living in Southern Middle Tennessee, but we are considering relocating further East this year? I can't tell you what a PIA it would be to uproot from this area and move, but it is something I've thought about often... Closer to her son in Oak Ridge, and much closer to the mountains of East Tennessee! Got some thinning to do here...

My wife and I are down sizing this year. The kids moved out years ago and
we don’t need this much house anymore. So after 20 years in this house
I’ve got to get rid of more than a few things. None of the camping gear
    though. That’s just off limits!!

When moved here I had left behind a ton of junk, but soon it found it's way back to me...

    Aloha!

I did a lot of business in Knoxville over the years and I like that area. I also like the area where Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia come together. I've vacationed near Warne, NC many times and that tri state area is just spectacular to me. Although I'd have to be totally retired to live there. It's too remote for me otherwise.

I remember reading that Johnson City, TN was the most "Temperate" city in the US with regard to temperature "swings". I have done business in Johnson City as well and I think I could live there.

My three homes are so spread out that I'm done with moving until I fully retire. I'm also fed up with FLYING between my homes. But when I retire, then I'll probably sell all three and buy something with 5 wooded acres..... but close to a hospital! I think There is a good hospital in Murphy, NC

My wife would prefer to be right in Oak Ridge to be near her Son and grandkid, but I think I'd prefer a little distance? Most of the rural areas only have limited medical capabilities, (which is a consideration as we creep up in years).

I would hate to have to move again with all the junk we have hoarded over the years. My next home will be the funeral home!

In a few years I would really like to winter somewhere warmer like in the west.

No kidding, we've got enough junk for two houses... Only thing about going West is the long travel distance to see people you left behind. We've got another grand baby due in April, so I doubt she'd go for Idaho or New Mexico?

I'm trying to figure out one more move myself. I could enjoy Utah, but I don't know if I could do it year round. My daughter and grand-daughter just moved to Charleston, SC. and I could do eastern SC, but that's still a hike to where she is. I need to figure it out. I'm about half packed.

Hard to figure out where we want to relocate to. Between grand-kids and family here
in the Midwest weighted against wanting to be able to ride year round.
It has snowed in some unexpected southern states this season.

Guess we will stay here close to all the kids, besides I did get a bike for riding in the snow.
