I would say my bike was worth between six and seven thousand, but not sure what insurance will go to? My coverage only covers $2000 for customizing, so if retail is $4500 for my 2004 1800R then that would be about right... I found another bike like mine on C/L today for $5000, which sounds about comparable to me! https://nashville.craigslist.org/mcy...356436215.html

Sorry to hear about your bike, glad it wasn't worse. Doen't take much damage to total a bike, replacement parts $$$.

Just out of curiosity I checked out a local used bike dealer
    http://www.wowmotorcycles.com/bikesearch.aspx
They had several 1800C but only 1 1800R (03 with less than 7K miles, $4470)

Local CL had a couple, mostly around $5K

Yeah I was a lot more fortunate than you were last year... VTX 1800's range from $3500 to over $7500 on C/L adds around here. I haven't gotten to the point in this process to seriously look at another purchase yet... I may end up keeping and repairing mine, or I may let them have it and start looking for a replacement? (or I may just quit riding period... )

You really should be checked over by a doctor, just in case. You may have strained or pulled something trying to keep the bike from going down under the truck with you on it. You may not even realize that you have an issue for a few days.

I found out this morning that the other driver didn't get a citation for causing the wreck, and that the trooper has still not submitted a report on the investigation... Good 'ole boys alive and well in middle tennessee...

I ended up starting a claim with my own insurer, (GEICO), and an adjuster is looking at my bike tomorrow. Should find out if he agrees with my mechanic's estimate tomorrow afternoon, and have a check in a couple of days! I'll let them worry with the County Risk Management adjuster...

If totaled, buy it back as a parts bike for your new 1800. Lots of good parts on your old bike.
