    Another VTX bites the dust...

Well a pickup truck backed over the front of my bike today, (with me on it). It was a low speed wreck, (didn't see me behind him). Front end is all mangled up, but I'm fine... Thirty months ago I crashed my first VTX, and it was totalled out by my insurance company. Shoulda stayed in bed today...

Glad you are ok-at least it happened during the winter, you've got time to replace the bike before spring!

Not sure exactly what all is damaged yet, but pretty sure it will be repaired. The guy hit me square while backing up on a country road, (I was completely stopped). His bumper went over my front tire crushing and pushing back the fender past the forks. Brake lines didn't beak off, but were stretched back. Not sure about rim or fork tube damage, but it was a good hard hit so I'm thinking all that will need replacing? I rode the bike while it was being pushed backwards... (quite a bit of excitement! LOL). The truck was from the County Highway Department, and was travelling behind two Bush Hogs. He started backing up hurriedly to avoid being hit himself by a backing tractor... He said he didn't see me back there?

I see a law suit in the making ... Play your cards right and you could maybe end up with a brand new bike ...

I've done so much with so little for so long ... Now I can do nearly anything with almost nothing.

Based on the limited damage and no personal injury, I won't hold my breath waiting for windfall justice...

Glad your ok and he didn't keep backing up over you. Had a 83 year old drag me down the road for 24 feet with me stuck under the front of her jeep. Thank God for those BMW opposed cylinders.

Jim first off glad to hear you are okay! Don't give up too quick on the county having your bike fixed. When I worked for KYDOT the state paid for many broken windshields due to our mowing crews. I don't know about the county level but I would dang sure check into it!
