Thanx for answering but I already put in for the week of Oct 14th with Oct 7th week alternatively..I will get the 1st choice however due to my high seniority..I doubt that 1 week would have gotten many more takers anyway..some see Oct as it is and some wont travel then anyway..if I was on a bike I would not do this being that I would have 2 lil dogs to be concerned about,so I have put it to Oct 18-20 tentatively.

True, first come, first on the calendar of things I want to make... Plus it gives others a date NOT to put theirs on.

I have camped there for many years. I have had the best weather in he fall at blackwater falls ,the 2nd week of oct, around the 15th. If I was to guess, the 12th through the 14th will be the best weather to be camping. The 18th - 20th may be ok as well, but the temps seem to be cold at night toward the end of the month and only get in the 60's in the day time.

Actually I/we had perfect camping weather all week..me and the hairy kids started at Hocking Hills s p in Ohio for 3 nights, then on to Blackwater...I moved it from Sept to Oct in hopes to see more colour..well, I DID see more colour but northwest of the area as I was leaving...maybe a waterfall tour might be an interesting idea..I will research this. I did not see much colour last year either at Grayson Lake s p in KY when I went.. I am thinking of doing a spring rhododendron trip some year Grayson Lake sp AND Blackwater Falls would have awesome plants bloomed in spring.. I noted a lot of large trees of that species on the Lindy Point trail near Blackwater Falls....Btw I did get my choice and the 18-20 is when I will be heading to WV..gives the Tims Ford peeps a crack at the same weekend as before..just a note.. my 1st camping night at Hocking hills was the coldest night and my last night at Blackwater was the warmest night..I did not even get dew on my tent that Saturday night!

I still need to get in touch with Lori to be 100%, but yes I think we will be good. I'll try to get in touch with her this afternoon after they get out of church.
