Thanks y'all for the well wishes, it means a lot to have good friends like you all! Doc came in today and said if all went well I can have the other one done in six weeks! I'm hoping it will go smoothly, it would be nice to have a fresh start next season!

Good news ! A local friend in Illinois had both done a couple months apart and he is thrilled with the results.

Re: One hip replaced, one to go!

I had my left hip replaced four years ago. I knew it was going bad but I waited...just a little too long. Anyway, it's done now and I'm glad.
I have a weird congenital hip configuration, which probably contributed to my hip problem in the first place, and I had to get an unusual replacement made mostly of ceramic. I amuse myself now by telling people that I'm now made of the same stuff as their bathroom throne. :-)

Prayers for a quick recovery. It's all worth it...You'll feel much better.

I had my left hip replaced, 4 years ago this coming January. I waited about 3 months before riding the Wing as we have cold weather until April many years. That year was no better. I would do the other in a heart beat if needed. Do ALL the moves the PT people tell you to do and then some yet!! Toughen that critter up!! Good luck to you.

Re: One hip replaced, one to go!

Got home yesterday about 2:00, so far so good! We had some issues with me getting out of the recliner they told me I can sleep in. I think we have our system down now! My coach Godzilla is barking out orders like a Drill Sargent! Surprisingly she has been very sweet when not dishing out the tough love! I've been trying to do a little more than required with the exercises and walking each time. When I hold the grips of the walker I try to imagine them being grips on the bike!

Thanks all for the encouragement, it helps! I've dropped 25 pounds so far, and hope the walking will help with that too!

Tough way to lose weight, but you were a little "fluffy" anyway and will probably look like a "centerfold" for one of them girly magazines by the time you get back to runnin' on both legs...How about those 2am bathroom calls? Probably a little awkward for a little while...You're sound good though. Keep up with the exercises...they'll give you a good "leg to stand on."
