    Anyone know how far apart hotels/ gas stations/ camping are on us395 from Death Valley going north up the back side of the Sierra Nevadas?

    Check gasbuddy.com and you can find gas stations in that area.

    Google the town on your route, most should have gas.

    As I recall, I never had to go more than 20-30 miles to get to a gas station over on that side of the range. But as others stated, gasbuddy is your freind.

    I've traveled 395 many times and never had a problem
    Heading north you will find gas at:
    Lone Pine
    Independences
    Big Pine
    Bishop
    Mammoth Lakes
    Lee Vining
    Walker
    Topaz Lake (Cal.. Nevada border)
    Gardnerville
    etc etc etc

    The only place I know of with a stretch of miles and iffy gas on 395 is between Susanville and the Oregon border. But I travel 139 for that stretch instead of 395. The only gas is at Adin at Juniper Junction. But on 395 it's a bit of a stretch from Susanville to Alturas, but doable.
