During a warm spell this winter we took the kayaks up to Lake Allatoona to try em out. Had a nice day. I took mine out fishing couple days ago.
Last years float was my first with a kayak and I thought it was more relaxing and fun then a canoe. I've had similar thoughts about getting one, but I was looking at maybe a larger one designed more for fishing. Much easier and cheaper then the bass boat.

Glad to see you two up and active.

With all the flooding in MO and AR I was curious if Bass River R. was flooded so I went to their facebook page and they had a few photos. Looks like the water has receded but here are a couple photos I copied from their FB page showing flooding, one is the pool which means all the camping area was also under water.

Goes without saying, MO got dumped on this week. Fortunately, we don’t live near a river and aren’t suffering any losses, but our hearts go out for many that are. Not certain our rain gauge is that accurate, but we registered over 13” since the beginning of weekend.

Knowing whats going on it’s not hard to imagine if we had been at Bass River this week, we would have been sitting at the camp site like we were partying in the river last year, just not as enjoyable.

A friend of mine lives in AR , just south of the MO/AR state line near a small town called Knobel. He lives close to the Black River.
I saw this on his Face Book page today, stating the river had crested and was starting to drop.
Keep in mind his house sits on 8' tall piers!!!

How hard will it be to reserve a site close to others here with short notice? I need to wait to see if work will give me time off.

It won't be tough at all. Many of us share sites with and w/o electric. If you
prefer a site of your own you'll find one to suit. No problem.

Anyone have room on their site that they would be willing to share?

There shouldn't be an issue finding room for you and anyone else that shows up. The
campground isn't very busy at this time of year.
