    Late April-Early May Campout

Since our thought-about campout at Cumberland Gap fell through this year due to it's close date with the Tim's Ford get-together, would there be any interest from the masses in trying to pull together another one in the late April-Early May 2017 timeframe? Here is a little info on the place...

First Come/First Serve except for the Group Community area, which may be reserved.

Would anyone prefer any specific dates? Was thinking along the timeframe of Apr 28-29-30...or maybe May 4-5-6...

Never seen a bear there, but it is emphasized that bear proof containers or hanging food material from trees is required....never seen that done there either, but it is in one of the "Alerts."

Several great roads for riding in the area, Hwy 58 specifically is very scenic.

I see "Pappy's beer and wine" not far away... might be enough incentive to go (kidding) I haven't planned that far ahead yet so, the date is still open for me.

I love camping in KY so count me in. Although I froze my BUTT off in late April at the KOA in Corbin, KY about 7 years ago. The year that the Hurricane hit Florida's Gulf and shot up to the Mid Atlantic with rain and cold. I foolishly tried to beat it to get my bike from my Florida pad to Ohio. I lost. The torrential wind and rain caught me in Southern Georgia and I got stranded there for a few days. The temps dropped drastically and more resembled late Winter than early Spring. I think it was 30 degrees that night in Corbin and I was soaked and chilled to the bone.

Hopefully the temps will be more seasonal this Spring.

I am riding the "Run for the Wall" this year. That puts me in Washington DC the end of May. I am not sure how long I can be gone (the money could run out) but I really want to make it to the Spring Blue Ridge M&G and the Cherohala Chill Out the 2nd week in June.

Just thinking things through all of that.
