    Aspen Camper Factory Change/Update

This past weekend I was at the Indiana Boogie at the Lawrence County Recreational Park in Springville, Indiana. Trailmaster had a booth there displaying an Aspen Classic. I mentioned to the person manning the booth that a simple improvement to the trailer would be to include an additional "Elastic Hold Down Strap" on each side of the trailer to aid in holding up the tenting material.

The person in the booth told me they started doing just that a few weeks ago! He told me that I could call and speak to Peggy to order an "Elastic Hold Down Strap" and to mention and make sure to tell her you also need the mounting hardware. He said it's a simple install.

I saw those a while back in a video on YouTube and asked about them and they said I could order them.

Trailmaster Inc The elastic straps are attached with snaps that screw in place on each side and end of the camper. The cost of the straps is $10.00 each. Give us a call at 800.398.9090 and we can get a pair (with snaps) out to you.

I've been using them for a few years now. I originally made up my own straps from webbing and buckles, but then got the straps from Trailmaster. I have two elastic straps front to rear and a shorter one side to side (middle of trailer). They do a good job of keeping the tenting up and out of harm's way.

Do you have pictures of the straps and cords you can post?

My new Aspen came with the straps. I didn't know the older ones didn't have them. Pretty simple. Work great.

Jobe05 made me a set that included the attachment snaps, I just haven't installed them as yet. My Aspen is a 2006.

I have a 2014 Aspen camper and it only came with one elastic strap for each side. One strap for the width of the camper and one strap for the length of the camper. The latest Aspen campers come with two of the longer elastic straps to be placed on each end/side lengthwise to aid in tucking in the tenting material that hangs over the side. Does your Aspen have two lengthwise straps?

I had ordered a set for my Classic a year or so ago...should have been standard equipment. Simple to install...just a drill, small bit, and a Phillips head.
