How are the shower and restroom facilities there? I always camp at the place by the Flea Market because it's easy to get in and out. Showers are decent and not too crowded.

Good question, this will be the first time I have camped there, I'll give them a call and let you know. We have aways stayed some ware else, but end up there, very easy to get in and out of. Lots of vendors, food, drink, entertainment etc. and after having a bunch of drinks I don't have to get on the bike.

I'm not sure about the showers and restrooms but I do remember there is a lot of shade in the camp area, or it was as of last October. We didn't camp there but were hanging out with some people there. I haven't been to spring Bike Week in a while, we have been going to Biketoberfest the last few years. Nothing like watching naked women wrestle in a truck load of Cole Slaw!:D Did you say they had vendors there?:p

Yea, during bike week there are vendors, lots of them, food and drink, and yea great cold slaw! The camp ground is across the street from the bar/vendors etc, and lots of shade.

My wife and I got to the Cole Slaw wrestling very early one year and got a front row seat. By the time it was almost starting time, there was a big crowd and we were pushed back a couple of rows. No problem, but then some people started passing around and smoking a bunch of weed and since I always got drug tested when I got back from a bike ralley, we had to leave, couldn't risk the second hand smoke!
Haven't been back to the Cabbage Patch since, now I just hang out where the body painters are!

I always worried about that too! I was subject to random drug testing where I used to work because I have a CDL (Commercial Driver License). Somehow I ALWAYS got randomly picked. Must of had something to do with the long hair I had at the time.
We are riding to Myrtle Beach in May this year instead of going to Daytona. I don't know if it will be a good idea or not, but the guys I ride with are looking to try something different this year, so I said why not. Daytona will always be my favorite run, I just like the way the town is laid out. I will miss drinking a cold one at Smiley's Tap, thats for sure. :(
Checked on camping at the cabbage patch. Cacklebery campground is also across from cabbage patch, they have rest rooms and showers, the have tent and RV camping. The cabbage patch camp ground has porta potties only. But I think you could use any of the portable showers they set up. Cackleberry.com to check it out, I think they charge $25.00 per night.
