Before heading out on this last trip I wanted to buy a new touring jacket, I wanted something waterproof, "without having to stop and put in a liner", warm and cool when needed, it also had to be functional and priced reasonable. I looked at the killimajaro, the AST, and the BMW. The BMW was by no means priced reasonable, the AST is really nice and the price not to bad, I currently have a air AST and like it alot for hot and cool riding. I looked at the Killimajaro and was about to buy it when I stumbled across the tourmaster, WOW what a lot of bang for the buck. This jacket is totally waterproof "without liner in", it has enough pockets including a sleeve pocket for credit cards, lic etc, which I really like. It also has a rear pocket which opens on both sides, and you can get to it without taking the jacket off. It also has several inside pockets. The zip in/out liner is good down to mid to high 40 extended riding, below that I put my Gerbings jacket liner on. It has CE armour in the elbows, back and shoulders, removable. The reflectors are ok but could be a little larger. This is a lot of jacket for the price, I paid $115.00 plus shipping which was about $20.00. This last trip was 2,800 miles and ranged from 30 degrees to 85 degrees, when I hit the florida 85's I took out the liner and opened the 4 front vents and the 2 shoulder vents and the one large back vent, "all of which have velcro on them so they stay open" and stayed as cool as a cucumber! Tourmaster put quite a bit of thought into the design of this jacket, and yes it might could have a couple more goodies, but all in all it has far more than most jackets costing much more. As far as fit, it is true to its sizing, XXL is just that, with enough extra room for me to use my Gerbings with no problems. The fabric is 500 & 600 courdura. As far as how robust.....well on this trip it performed flawless! and only time will tell, I had a tourmaster several years ago for several years and it held up well! Again I will say with this jacket you get A LOT OF BANG FOR THE BUCK! If your looking, do yourself a favor and check this one out! Remember this is the TOURMASTER TRANSITION 2 and is the lastest version.

Couldn't agree more. I have two different Tourmaster jackets and feel the quality and functionality is well worth the very reasonable price. I have an older 3/4 length jacket, the Venture pants, and the Draft mesh jacket. Love em! Been in major downpours with the 3/4 jacket and pants and stayed dry. They vent well and seem to hold up well too.

I have been in the market of a textile jacket to go along with my leather jacket. My stupid leather jacket has shrunk a size or two for some reason. :p I like the looks of the Aerostich Darien but I can't stand the looks of the price tag! I have been looking at some of the jackets by Joe Rocket and Icon since they are a little more in my price range. I will have to give the Tourmaster a look, that is an excellent price.

I have one also that I've been wearing for about 2 years. It is by far the best jacket I have ever had. I wore it for 16 days straight on a iron-butt almost 13,000 mile trip from Texas to Alaska and all states in between. It never leaked a drop and was comfy from 30 to 85 degrees. I took the liner out and just use a Gerbings for heat.

As for size, I had heard that they were a little small and ordered a 3xl tall so I could be sure and layer underneath. Fit is perfect for me @ 6'4 and 275

Check out Motorcycle Acessories Wharehouse on e-bay, thats were I bought mine, they have a "make best offer" and I offered them either $115.00 or $118.00 plus shipping and the took it.

I recently got one of these in the hi-viz yellow. It's just as bright as the olympia jackets but more of what I needed out of a jacket.

I'm very satisfied.

I found a Tourmaster Cortech Fusion jacket in the email sales notices from New Enough dot com two years ago. Its been a nice replacement for an older First Gear jacket. The Fusion and my tourmaster riding pants have kept me dry over the past two years with no problems. I think Tourmaster makes a good product at a fair price. Its good to have protection and 3 season gear at a decent price. If you add a Synergy jacket liner and pants liner it makes this 4 season gear with ease.
