When I woke up Saturday and saw it was going to be a great day for riding I knew I had to go somewhere. So I jumped on the GX and headed East.
I found a few dirt roads along the way.

This section was so slick I still can't believe I did not go down after hitting it at 40 MPH. The back tire was all over the place. I though while down shifted to get ready for the turn i must have dropped too many gears and and the back tire locked up. So after getting the bike under control I went back to see what happen. Well the road was so slick I could not make it back up the hill. Boy was I lucky!

This was the first time I had the GX off road and man this bike is fun. I when through some deep mud/water holes but forgot to take any pictures.

I had a lot of East TX red dirt on the bike but it had to see in this pic.

As you can see in this picture I did have one issue.

I cover 450 miles and 150 of them were dirt.

Woohoo! It's great to see a local X-Challenge ride report. I'm in the process of getting an '08 X-Challenge and I am looking forward to riding it in places where my GS is too big to take. Silverton, CO is already calling me, as well as places in Big Bend. When I get my bike we will have to meet up and talk bikes. Plus, I already have a list of modifications and accessories that I have to play with.

I was at Wild West today and they sure had a good deal on a couple of Demo 07 X's. About $2700 off and they looked brand new.
