I was looking at this tent at Sportsman Warehouse here in San Antonio for $169 and then found the tent on-line for $30 less at Mountain Sports in Dallas. I was wondering if anyone had any good/bad experiences with this vendor before I ordered on-line. Nearly all of the reviews that I've read re. the Kelty Gunnison 4 have been favorable.
BTW, the San Antonio Sportsman Warehouse on Loop 410/hwy 151 is going out of business (as well as some of their other locations) and has most of their merchanidise for 30% off. Unfortunately, the only Gunnison 4 that they had at that location was a floor display and the sales person couldn't locate the rainfly and stakes for the tent.

Thanks,

Ed W.

That's a good price, I'm leaning towards the Teton tent heavily...

I've never heard of that vendor before but it all looks good, might want to call and make sure they have them in stock.

Joe,

I gave them a call about 5 minutes prior to their closing time and the guy said that they had something like 28 of the Gunnison's in stock. Should ship on Monday. Couple of things that I like about this tent - (1) two doors so my wife and I won't have to be climbing over each other to get in/out and (2) has mesh fabric along the lower perimeter of the tent to allow some air flow at the level where we'll be sleeping at night. Will pick up a foot print for the tent locally.
Think that Mountain Sports is located in Arlington, so didn't know if any of ya'll from the Dallas area had ever dealt with them below.

I have only dealt with them on a limited basis. And by that I mean once. Not because of bad service or product but there are many options for products around DFW. I bought a life preserver for my lab there because they were cheaper than anywhere else I could find. Usually Cabelas is hard to beat on pricing for dog goodies but these guys had the same product for less. They are closer to me than Cbelas and I wanted the chance to deal with them because its always good to know the resources out there.

At any rate, I will shop there again. I didnt do a lot of other "comparison shopping" while I was there but I noted they seemed to carry all the typical name brands and products. And yes, they are in Arlington off of 360.

I was looking at that very tent and the Gunnison 2 thinking one is too big, and the other may be a little small and then I found this, the Gunnison 3.1. I haven't seen it for sale anywhere in stores or online except at Kelty's site.

I think this could be the perfect tent.........

Ordered the tent last Friday night - was shipped from Mountain Sports on Monday and arrived here yesterday. Fixing to set it up in the living room this morning before leaving for work (do I need to seal the seams if using it indoors?;).
Can't complain about the good price and quick service from this vendor.

congrats ed... you should seal the seams anyway because if you leave it in the living room long you'll be sleeping in it in the backyard... don't ask me how I know that.

Ed, be sure and let us know how you like it, I may just go ahead with the larger one after all.
