Stecoah, NC 28771

Date of visit:
Last visit June/2005

Weather:
It was warm when I was at this campground but it was still cooler than the TX heat I came from and the stream that runs through the campground seems to cool everything off somewhat.

Campground Condition:

This is definitely the Ritz of campgrounds. There's everything from tent sites to cabins and the main office has a big screen TV as well as serves meals. There's even a computer where people can check their email and wireless if you have your laptop with you.
The bathroom and shower facilities are top notch and very clean.
None of the roads within the campground are paved but that didn't seem to be a problem as they were still in good shape.http://www.ironhorsenc.com/picts/rooms/cabin4.jpg

I'm thinking about going here in June for the Horizon's Unlimited get together. It sounds like a nice place.

I've been here twice now. Once in June '05 and once this last November '06. Even though the campground was technically closed, Charlene made us feel at home and had the bunkhouse cleaned and heated up for us to stay in no time. She even cooked for us each morning and evening. I love this place. She even made us popcorn to eat while watching a movie on the big screen one night.

IronHorse is still top notch. We had a Wedding/Rally there over the weekend with a bunch of FLSTS owners. Great place to ride around.

Didn't get to Iron Horse this year, but as Mellow said (nearly 6 years ago!), this place is like the Ritz! As far as mc campgrounds go, imho, this is as nice as they get.

The tent pics show cars and stuff. There is a separate area on the other side of the lodge, closer to the woods that is bike only camping. I heard the breakfast is good, but we went to camp, and that means cooking our own, as we did.
