This is my packing method for the past 3 years. The picture below is my Cabelas Boundary II
Backpack Bag (http://www.motocampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48) and it's a very durable bag.

On the left is the bag, on the right, from the top down, are:
- Ozark Trail Sleeping Bag (http://www.motocampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96),
- Sevylor Rubber/Cotton Airbed (http://www.motocampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=807) inside waterproof bag,
- Mountain Hard Wear Sleeping Bag,
- 2 Campingaz CV470 Canisters,
- Eureka Apex 2XT 2-man Tent (http://www.motocampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15),
- ground tarp for under my tent.

Sometimes, I'll throw in some sandals and an MSR camp towel (http://www.motocampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201).

I try not to put much in my trunk so I always have a place for my helmet however, I typically
will have the following:

Face shield (not shown), small camera (not shown), ski cap (not shown),
LED Flashlight (not shown), LED Headlamp (not shown), MSR Cookset
and inside will put the Campingaz Twister stove (http://www.motocampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=660) as well as a salt/pepper shaker,
some dish washing liquid and a spork. Also in the trunk are a
Campingaz Lumostar C 270 Lantern (http://www.motocampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57) and, in hot weather,
a Coleman Tent Fan (http://www.motocampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90) which has been a life saver on those humid nights.
If I bring food, I'll usually put it in the trunk.

My right saddlebag will contain my bag liner with all my clothes and also a small cosmetic bag
that I took from my SO that works perfectly for toiletries.

Underneath my bag liner I put the Gerber Camp Axe (http://www.motocampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112) and Trailblazer Savivor Saw (http://www.motocampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=733), they both lay very flat take
up no room at all.

I didn't do a pic of my left saddlebag because that typically holds those things I have regardless
of whether or not I'm camping. First aid kit, tire plug kit, misc tools, rain gear, heated gear,
etc.
I might throw an extra campingaz canister in there or extra gloves but usually, nothing to
do with camping.

Joe, that sure is one small sleeping bag, looks like it takes up no room at all. Which Mountain Hardware bag is it? And I assume it is a down bag?

Keith, it is a down bag but I have no idea which one. I've looked at their site and can't see anything that comes close to it and the bag has no identifying model numbers or anything on it other than the Mountain Hardwear logo.

Trailace has one that is synthetic and packs smaller. He did a review on it, nooksack I think, anyway, REI stopped selling that one.

I'm sure mine is discontinued which is why I can't seem to find it. Sorry, not a lot of help there.

Campmor has a zero degree bag that looks very similar.

Do you use the down sleeping bag in the summer? Seems like it would be hot?

Yes, I just sleep on top of it or just sleep on the air mattress.

I don't know about Joe but I don't sleep if I'm cold.

I carry a +30 synthetic bag and an Ozark fleece bag all the time.

A couple of times to be comfortable I've gotten in the mummy bag and put the fleece bag on top and then my riding gear on top of that. Being warm is good camping, trying to sleep cold is a nightmare.

Be prepared to be a little cooler on an air mattress.

I use a cot, which would be very hard to get warm when the night turns cold, except I also use a self-inflatable mattress that is foam filled for insulation.

The thicker the air mattress, the longer your body takes to heat that air to body temperature also.

So, Joe, the bottom line is when you motocamp, everything fits into the bike and nothing is left outside. Is that correct? I must be doing something wrong. No pictures yet, but they're coming.

Great thread.
