I hope you guys are happy with your new tents and other camping farkles. I know the Baby Beemer won't haul all that stuff the Big Beemer does so I guess Rick has to down size his stuff. I guess Joe got the tent pole thing resolved and ordered the mansion.

Yeah, the place I ordered from actually took it out of the box and measured the poles, 26" and that's what their box said.. not sure if maybe they switched the pole lengths between years or what... we'll see when it arrives.

Well when I was shopping I noticed that some places said 26" and some said 29". I just dropped the hammer on the 29". Hope whatever dual sport I end up with can handle them!!!! IF I get a dual sport!!!!! Every time I see a picture of that Dewalt colored 800 GS with the bags, I kinda drool with envy.

The 800GS is really sweet looking. I bet it's a better all-around bike than any other BMWs.

Oh Man, you are really going to stir up some stuff now!!!! And I know what you ride!!!! This is the first serious look I've taken at any Beemer since I got rid of my '76 R 75/6.

Joe,
I was just on Campmoor's website and noticed that they had this tent on sale for $89.99 after rebate was applied. Do you know if this tent is relatively stable when the winds are blowing with the 2-pole design and how waterproof it is from other folks experiences? I was looking to get a larger tent for my wife and myself (currently using a 2-person Kelty that has good ventilation and has kept us dry but is cramped on space) where there was more headroom and room for stuff inside the tent. The price on this tent looks attractive.
Thanks,
Ed W.

Ed, Motomac is getting ready for a trip from OH to CA and back so he should have a good review when he gets back next week. I'll see if I can finds some reviews but the few I found mentioned it's a good tent that doesn't leak.. I'm sure it would be okay in high winds but you might have to tie it down better using strings/rope.
It looks to be very roomy.
Amazon.com had some good pics that weren't on other sites.

I'm just mad because I'm not riding with you...
It's probably just gonna be ice on saturday, no snow so you'll be okay..
Maybe we can make a fire in the parking lot just to at least make you feel like you're camping.

That does it, I'm going to bed, my stomach is hurting from laughing so much and I have to get on the road early in the AM to make Texarkana tomorrow night.

Darn Mac,
I'm gonna miss you in Santa Ysabel this weekend. I'm going Jeep camping in the desert between Gila Bend & Yuma. Testing out some new equipment.
Before MC Camping I used to think the Jeep had no room, but, man, you can't even believe all the junk you can take camping in a jeep...lol...
Wave as you go by Yuma.... If ya need anything in in this area.. just call 9289416291
