For many years I have seen Kermit chairs at rallies, and although they looked comfortable and sturdy I just didn't have much interest in them. However, I'm getting older and chairs are now more appealing. I used mine at a rally in Fredericksburg last October and I'm really happy with it. They are easy to setup, and so well made that and I can't imagine wearing one out. Here is the link to the official Kermit Chair site - http://www.kermitchair.com
Here are a couple of chairs in use in Fredericksburg:

Here is my chair being used to relax after an exhausting morning opening Christmas presents.

My kermit came in yesterday and it's very compact to carry and much more comfortable than my coleman aluminum folding chair that I've carried the last 2 years.
My review of the durability will come at a later date when I've actually been able to test it.

I've had mine for almost 2 years. Bought it through Aerostich. Later on had a friend get his and with it he also got the leg extensions. Damn! after sitting in his with the extension I had to have them for mine. Makes it full size and comfortable.
Great Christmas picture.:D

Do you have a picture of it with the extensions on and one all packed?

Having problems posting two pictures here because of size. Anyway heres the chair with legs extensions.
As for the legs they have there own little bag and takes up very little room.

I know this isn't a Kermit but thought some might like to see the ultimate camp chair.
This use to be the ultimate camp chair. Its what I used on certain camp trips where we were there for 2 nights or longer.

It was good for about one year of camping. Made by Coleman (Coleman inflateable Camp Chair) and no longer made. Found it on ebay paid around $35 if I recalled. Filled up fast with on electric pump. When deflated it rolls up about the size of a small tent. If you look close in the 2nd picture thats it on the bottom just in front of the yellow cooler.
The Kermit is a great chair but this chair you could spend the night in. It met it' end early. I liked it so much I had it inflated and out in the garage most of the time so I could watch TV or as the TV watched me. Woke up on the garage floor one night as one of the seams let go just enough to slowly put me on the floor.
Was a GREAT! chair. Wonder if they can still be found as that was back in 04'.

The Kermit Chair is one of those things that once you use it, you wonder how you ever got along without it. Great piece of camping equipment.

Boy, if you wanted attention in a campground, that inflatable chair would do the trick!

I'm a big boy at 300 and the kermit chair has worked well for a few hours three or four times so far .Though I'm going to get the leg extenders also as Its just a tad short for 6'1" to get in and out.
Best chair for the bigger guys as the web says tested to 700 though only rated for 350 LBS

Just a update from my use and opinion.
I love the kermit chair and its twice as good with the leg extenders I just recieved mine in the mail Friday morning and it makes a big difference getting out of the chair after a hour or so LOL
Seems likie the good workmenship is also on the leg extenders.
I have used the folding chairs that come in a bag and even the heavey duty ones normally break after a season but this thing is easier to pack up and seems like it will last for years.
After a few months I would recomend it to all .
If you have a longer inseam like over 28 inches then I would get the leg extenders also

So, after sitting next to Gordon at our camp fire in Alabama last weekend, me on my little folding tripod butt killer and him in his "comfy-take-up-very-little-room-when-folded" Kermit chair, I'm thinking maybe I should invest in one of those critters for my Christmas present. Or maybe even Thanksgiving.....!!!!

you cant take it with you Mac .....
I use mine in a few different places and the only issue was on muddy ground as it did sink with my bigger frame LOL
You should be able to relax like a king

OK after three days of waiting, I finally got my confirmation from the Kermit Chair folks that they received my order and it would be SEVERAL weeks before delivery. For those of you that got yours from Kermit and Co., how long was several weeks?

Thanks Mike, maybe it will get here before my Florida trip. But I actually won't need it for that trip as I'll be in the big rig with the SO. Gotta think positive about her right now.

The wife and I have had our Kermit Chairs since '96 or '97. We love them, they are so much more comfortable than the foldup tube chairs. We got the tall ones, so you sit at regular heighth. Now I think can get extentions for the short ones. Since we camp out a Bunkhouse camper trailer hardly ever break them down. We just store them on top of trailer under the cover. The chairs are exspensive, but worth it. The only trouble we have ever had with them is a couple of times the pins for the back and bottom rungs have come out, but I just tapped them back in. The other problem is getting folks out of your chair around the campfire. LOL!!

I know the Kermit is a great chair, but those who haven't bought one should check out the Pico, It's all metal, folds up a little bigger than your lap top, rated to 300 lbs and has tons of places, once set up, to stuff things. The material is mesh so it is very cool in the hot weather, and its easy to get in and out of and I'm 6' 250lb.
Cost retail is about the same as the kermit but you can find them on ebay for around $80.00.
Check it out!

Dad,
What are the folded dimensions?
To be honest I like the Kermit chair because of it's design, shape and resonable packed size. I haven't gotten one yet because I'm spending my money on other bike & gear upgrades first. But a less costly alternative is always a good thing !

How long have you worked for Pico LOL
Hope they pay better than Kermit has paid me
I could be just missing it but if you havent already done a review on the Pico please do that way we have more choices for everyone .
I choose the kermit as I am a big boy and it fits my sitting parts
The Pico looks cool to I just perfer the roll the kermit folds into rather than the flat square shape for lashing to the bike,
No Harm No Foul as us just chattng about them give all a better idea of what wouldor might work for them.
I also have bought too many of the use and toss wally world chairs so the more spec's and ideas about other chairs makes it abetter world for all .

I have tried the GCI Sling Chair and it is going back if possible .
Neither the wife or the little 10 year old liked it comapred to other chairs we have .
( I keep the kermit for me ) they said it was too hard to get out of and if you dont sit just right the back support is in a bad place for sitting .
Not that it is a bad chair its just not working for my crowd .
My friend kinda liked it but he only goes camping maybe once a year and normally trys to use my stuff LOL so he wont buy them from me either.

I recently bought a Pico at REI. With my dividend of $41.00 and a 20% off coupon it was about $70.00 with tax. Folded it is 20 x 12 x 3.75 inches. I haven't used it yet but soon.;)
Here's a link to more specifics: http://www.rei.com/product/767164
Oh and I don't work for REI, I just like their products. :)
