Trailace has this same air bed and the quality seemed really nice and not
expensive ($30 for Single, $50 for Double) at Cabela's (click for link) (http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0013104513723a&navCount=1&podId=0013104&parentId=cat601643&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat20075-cat601643&catalogCode=IH&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601643&hasJS=true).

I wasn't sure if this would be as good as my $10 walmart air bed however,
it is. The center section is just a little lower than the rest and the built-in
pillow really makes it comfortable. The rubberized cotton also just feels
better.

I do wish the two inlet nozzles at the foot had bigger openings so my
small air compressor would fill it up faster but I'll trade that convenience for
the comfort this provides.

This is also heavier than the other mattress I have but only about 50% heavier.

This gets high points by me.

Update: 11/27/2007
I was finally able to take this out on a 6-day trip and I have to
say it's the most comfortable air mattress I've used to date.

The built in pillow means I don't have to bring the homemade pillow I
created from an old sleeping bag.

This mattress is squared off and you feel like you are 'IN' the mattress
instead of on top of it like others.

This thing is very tough too, I can't see it ever having a puncture issue
unless you are really trying to damage it on purpose. It does weigh a
little more than the cheaper ones but that is nothing compared to the
level of comfort it provides.

I recommend highly recommend this mattress.

Here's a close up of one of the valves, the openings are 1/4 inch.

Mattresses made from that Rubberized cotten are damn near bulletproff. I've something similar made by Winibago. After 20+ years it still looks good, has never had a hole and still works great. This is a good exsample of how things were made right and made to last.

Thought that I might order a couple of these (smaller size) to eliminate the trampoline effect from my wife and I using a larger air mattress - every time one of us moves, it disturbs the other person. Found out that Cabela's is currently out of stock with no backorder date as to when these will be avaible. Looked at Campmor's website and did not find them listed. Any other low-price leads on this mattress that ya'll are aware of?

$33 Here but I have no experience with the company, might want to call them, they might even price match.

Joe, thanks for the link. Might ride up to Cabela's in Buda next week and see if they have any left in the store. Would be cheaper to pay the state sales tax than to order on-line and pay shipping fees from Cabela's or Kodiak.

Went to Cabela's in Buda yesterday and got the last single on the shelf. This is a "discontinued item" at Cabela's but they are still shipping remaining inventory from the warehouse to the retail stores. I'll probably go back in a week or so and pick up another of the single mattresses (they are still at the sale price).
Joe, I tried using my electric air pump to blow up the mattress without success. Even cut the nozzle to make sure that the air flow was being blown directly into the mattress - still no luck. Thank goodness this mattress is easy to blow up quickly using lung power. Will leave it set up a few days in the living room to see if the rubber smell dissipates.

Because the inlet is so small and you have to use the smallest fitting on your elect pump, the 12 volt pumps just don't handle that pressure and don't pump out the same amount of volume.

It will pump it up, but it takes a while. I found a balloon pump in the house that is a cylinder and it actually pumps up the mattress about twice as fast. I try not to blow into the mattresses because of bacteria build up.. what would that cause? beats me, I just heard it's not a good thing to do..

I was thinking of getting one of the manual pumps that are bellows types, sevylor actually sells a couple... they should fit on the bike without too much effort.

The elect pump will work.. but it takes so long it looks like it's not doing anything and not all of them are created equally.. Rick's works better than either of my two.

Here's a link to a balloon pump that will work OK, it's not all that easy but pushes a lot of air and it's dual action so the air comes out during extension and compression.

I found a small low pressure, high volume air pump at Meijers. Other stores prolly have something similar. About $12.00. Runs on a 12 volt cig lighter plug. It came with several adaptors to fit different nozzles.

I have a couple of Big Agnes Insulated Air Mats and it will fill them in less than a minute.

Yeah, my same pumps will fill an air mattress 3 times the size of the sevylor in 1/3rd the time. Put the smallest nozzle on there, it won't push the same amount of air due to the pressure.

I think I have 4 different ones laying around and I tried them all and they all have issues with the smallest adapter. I wonder if Sevylor will come out with a new version of this mattress, with bigger inlets?

I noticed tonight that Cabelas still has the double size available in their bargain bin, if anyone wants one.

These air beds are fantastic, they are a bit heavier than some others I have used over the years, but they dont leak and are very comfortable to sleep on. I was able to find a 12 volt high volume air pump at walmart for less than 10 dollars. I just plug it into the connection for my heated gear. It fills up the air mattress in less than 2 minutes. After a long day in the saddle a good meal and a good nights sleep is most welcome.
