I'm currently working in Rapid City SD (Ellsworth AFB) for a couple months. I towed my bike and camping equipment up and would like to hit a few camping spots while I'm here. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

There is camping at Devil's Tower, I have not camped there, but National Park camping is usually pretty good. As a fan of Close Encounters, Devils Tower is always on the must see list (I've seen it a couple of times, but not camped there).
You are also close to Carhenge, no camping there (Alliance, NE), but worth the trip.
Wind Cave is also worth a trip, they have camping there as well. It is near Mt Rushmore.
Theodore Roosevelt NP in North Dakota is also worth a look.
I would move fast on some of these, as the season must be rapidly ending...

Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't been to any of those, although I did go thru Alliance NE on the way up. You're right cold weather is approaching. I wish we could have timed it better.

Greetings,
I see this is an old thread, but I must disagree with the spots that are mentioned above. I wouldn't bother going very far as is suggested and would stay in the black hills.
Pactola Lake Campground
Sheridan lake campground
Dalton park, a little more out of the way, but in June great fishing just below the small lake
Horseshoe lake up by Mt. Rushmore
Or anywhere in Custer State Park
Just my 2 cents! Lived in Rapid for 8 years.

Once you're in the Badlands area, lots of campgrounds there. Some really nice roads as well!!!

I'm back in Texas now but I concur with your recommendations. I camped just about every weekend I was there. Most of the places you mentioned were closed for the off season, but I stayed at the game lodge campground in custer park and toured from there most wekends. It was nice camped alongside that creek. I put a couple thousand miles on the bike the two months I was up there. Did some mountain biking on the mickelson trail too, it is really nice! Next time I'll have to take the KLR. I was drooling over all the off-road places to ride.
