This is the Tripp-Lite 150 watt PowerVerter. A very compact and solidly built little inverter. It measures 5.5"L x 3.75"W x 1.75"D. It comes with a cigarette lighter type plug which I replaced with a powerlet plug to match my ST's outlets.
I like to camp but I like to have along my laptop for (down)loading tracks and maps from the GPS and my photos from the camera. Also I have an MP3 player that doesn't have a readily available 12 volt charger. All this necessitated a power inverter -- a way to charge up the laptop while on the road the next day after using it at the campsite and to keep the tunes going.
I bought the unit because it is small enough to fit under the ST's seat but I didn't end up using it that way. I had a cargo net across my passenger seat holding my extra fleece jacket and drinking water bottles so I just put the inverter under the net too and fed the cord from the laptop out of the Givi trunk to it. I have power outlets just below the seat on the left side. So this was simple and effective. The inverter worked flawlessly and kept all my little devices charged up as needed.
I recommend this little guy for your 120VAC needs. I got mine through Buy.Com and it was less than $30. Tripp-Lite also makes larger models if that's what you need.
