I bought this fan for a camping trip last june in Kerrville.
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4767725

It did what it was supposed to do which is creat a gental breeze inside the tent .
Price was around $20 at wally world .
Has two different lights settings - one white leds you could read with and a yellow one that wouldnt wake up the other sleepers in tent .
Has a high and a low for the fan (why the low ? )
High is Ok for making a breeze
Batteries lasted for two nights camping and for my daughter in her bedroom reading and useing the fan part all night 4 or 5 nights (her fan broke )
So total it lasted about 6 or 7 nights of fan power with the lights now and then . Then fan would still spin but the leds wouldnt light up anymore .
I would give up a little battery life for a bit stronger breeze but this will be a lot better than not having it .
Didnt take as little space as Mellows fan review but as I couldnt find his and this one was fine .
I would have given it a 5 if it pushed just a tad more air and the batteries lasting a little less would have been worth it .
For the singal user this is worth the sawbones. Small enough to take along

I like... light and fan... I like how the blades are not only protected so they don't touch anything and you can use it at an angle but also would protect the blades when packing.

Thanks Mike.

I like this too. Like Joe said, the blades are protected for both use and packing.

But I'm not sure this can be attached at an angle. It looks like the magnetic attachment is for the hanging clip, so the fan would still point down. Am I wrong on this? It's not that big a deal. Maybe I'm not seeing the different methods of attaching this to the tent?

I sure can see the advantage to having this unit just behind and above my head for both reading light and cooling.

It should work great at an angle... you can't see to well on the pic in the review.. here's a couple more.

I agree its on a hoop of sorts and would more or less point down most the time .
Now the magnet and the plate will attach to the side of tent but it didnt seem as secure as from the center of roof .
My tent also already has a hook in the center and it ties to the poles there as well for more support.
But the light was bright enough for me to read in the tent with the white LEDs on .
