After about 4 years of trying, we are leaving tomorrow! Breaking her in easy only a 3 hour trip to Willville and stay 2 nights. My plan is to take her to see the sites on the BRP, Mabry mill, the BRP music hall (can't remember the name), maybe lunch at Stations Inn. Two days of no plans to speak of should get her liking motocamping. She loves the outdoors, fishing and vehicle camping so I think I might come away with a riding partner. I am finally seeing the Sony Mavica has about lived it's life out going on the bike, might be an excuse to get rid of the old digi camera and invest in a small job likme everyone else has. We will take PICS.

Good luck on your trip, hope it all works out great for ya'll.

Some women just do not want to ride. I asked mine about riding again tonight and she said she was not interested. This makes a big differnece on my next bike, instead of something like a LT or GW maybe a GSA, GT, or FJR :)

Ride safe and have fun

We are taking off this morning for Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio. Camping near there. The weather man is calling for thunderstorms today so I asked the wife if she would rather take the van.

Response: "Heck no! We are going to VMD! We're riding!"

Bikes are now packed with the camping gear and are ready to go. 3 day weekend with road races, vintage moto-cross, vintage trials, flat track races, bike shows, demo rides and the largest swap meet in the US.

Drop the dogs off at the kennels and we're outta here!

Only bad thing about the wife moto-camping is you gotta buy 2 of everything! It's worth it.

Mongo, I am SOOOOO envious. My wife loves camping and car travel... but not motorcycling. Good for you! Hope the trip is full of adventure of the good kind.

Good luck Mongo and I hope you both have a great time.

My SO loves camping but hates my GSA so maybe my next bike will be a little more rider-friendly.

I don't have any trouble getting my wife to go motocamping as long as I tow the bike behind the 5th wheel. :D

Sorry so long getting back to post. We had a succesful trip, Lisa said she will go again, just no long trips. We stayed at Willville 2 nights and saw the sights on the BRP together, odd how all of these years I did not know Mabry Mill actually had a resturant! Guess I ride and don't stop when solo. Attached are PICS of the bike with my new MagsBag (she added 4 inches to the bottom of the bag over the saddlebags for the drop from the turbo tom rack) and Willville campground. Hope they loaded.

Your camp looks GREAT! I love your big U shaped bag. If I could get my wife to motocamp that would be a must have and probably the only way to bring it all while two up on the bike.

GREAT JOB!

GREAT JOB! I finally got in contact with Maggie (I assume) of Mag's Bags and She was in an accident and is not making anymore bags till next summer!? Yikes! Does anyone know of a retailer that might have some in stock? That is exactly what I need and now that are not being manufactured....dang.

Guess I'm a super lucky guy. All I have to do is say, wanna take a road trip and she starts getting her things together. Went to Blue Ridge Pkwy 3 weeks ago and she wore one pair of jeans, packed one pair of jeans for the return trip, couple of shirts, undies, toothbrush, etc., just the basics. Only took up the left saddlebag to accomodate ALL of her stuff. We rode for 6 hours on my hard-tail and pulled into the Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground at 9PM. Went to Maggie Valley, Wheels Through Time, Cherokee, then the parkway back around to the camp. Nothing like having your significant other enjoy the samethings you do.

Good luck and Safe Ride, make sure she has fun and some comforts. I lucked out .my wife took to it like a duck to water. Now she thinks her butt is like American Express..............I don't leave home without it!:) She is the one that pushed for the trailer,Its great to have her along, She always comes up with some great ideas ,and she has learn'd how to pack lite. We both agree, sometimes less is more. It dosen't take long to pack or unpack for a trip. When we had the 5th wheel,it was two days packing and three days unpacking and cleaning.Too much hassle factor.

We to have a new 5th wheel in the garage, used it once last year! You guys think I have any problems with my wife when I say lets go, she gets on before I do!!!!! A great partner to have!!!
