I set up a camping event on the ST site and it has been very successful the last 3 years. So, I thought breaking it into an event twice a year might be a good idea, one on the west side of Texas and one on the East LOL.

This year's East event was in Northern Georgia and the West event will be at the end of the month at Mesa Verde NP.

Here's the link to the details:

Anyway, doen't look like very many are going so I thought I'd throw it out here too.

I'm planning on leaving Wed 25th and making it to Amarillo from DFW then on Thursday head straight to Mesa Verde.. okay, maybe not straight there.

On Friday the 27th I might do a 700 mile ride through 4 corners, Bryce Canyon and Glen Canyon parks then back to Mesa Verde (this will be a very long day...) I may cut it short but once you get so far, the only short cut is to turn back and backtrack your route, yuk no one likes to do that!..

There are a couple other routes I have lined up, over 300 miles and just over 400 which will probably still be a day's ride depending on how many stops there are.

Saturday, I'll head to durango and silverton, etc.. then start angling back towards Amarillo and sunday will be a typical ride back to DFW.

So, that being said, let me know if anyone is interested in showing up. I'll make some reservations today and post the site number if they give that out.

We have a visit scheduled for that weekend in the Ouray area. I think we might throw Jack (14yr) on the back of one bike, camping gear on the back of the other, and see you there.

Cool.. maybe the Durango, Silverton, Ridgeway and back route would be best then.

We did the Dolores, Telluride, Ridgeway route to Golden.
Really beautiful and that makes a loop with Durango, Silverton and M.V.

Sounds good to me.. that's a great area, I don't think I could get tired of it.

LOL.. sure.. no problem, I used to have a valk myself. Welcome to the site!
It's been pretty busy this week but as soon as I find out what site is assigned I'll post something. Since it's a 2 tent/vehicle per site thing you are more than welcome to split one with me.

Won't be able to make this one.:(

Joe, have you thought about leaving CampSTOC as is and using an east and west camping event for MotoCampers? Might be a good way to help promote the MotoCampers site some more.

Maybe MotoCampEast and MotoCampWest.

I agree, not a bad idea... It started as an ST event though... But, I don't think anyone would care too much.. there will probably always be more STs there for a long time. I think I'll do that beginning with next years' first East event. The only issue I see is, it would now be a motocamper event so the posts about it will need to be directed here rather than st-owners. It sure does seem like that event does belong here. But, it's also primarily an ST event... hmm... I need to think about it more... very good idea though.. thanks.
