I just added this forum so we can discuss any specific modifications we've done to our bikes to make the camping experience that much easier.

After seeing the panniers offered in the Aerostich catalog and thinking "yikes" $$$$$, I made my own. I got a pair of external, add-on backpack compartments from Eastern Mountain Sports for $15 bucks each and yoked them together with some nylon straps, which then run under the seat. The panniers rest on the passenger pegs just ahead of the side cases.
I'd post a picture, but I'm afraid I'm too much of a computer Luddite.

Just post and at the bottom, past the Post Icons in the Additional Options area, you'll see a Manage Attachements button. That will allow you to upload up to a 500k size file.
Let me know if you have any problems with it.

I did a seat mod for my 2002 V92TC.
I've already posted pics on another forum. Here's the link if anybody is interested.

Have you noticed how many wine bottles appear in Blues Traveler's photos???? I do envy that little kitchen.

Maybe a bit of an off sort of mod but my power socket on the ST is so handy when camping.
It powers my led lamp thats on a long extention. I can cook supper by it, then move it into the tent to get into the sleeping bag and have a read. Switch it off and no power drain on the bike, it's always handy for those have to go out times in the middle of the night too. Because like Blue Traveler I always seem to have a bottle of red about.
