No problem, this is VERY short notice and only because that's my only window of opportunity over the next few weeks and I have to re-learn how to ride since I haven't been on the bike in a while.

I know I'm going, so... that means someone attended and the event is a success.. yeeehaaa!

OUCH!!!

I'm in the middle of building my wife a little studio and she's given conditions about me finishing it before I can go out and play. :( :(
(OK, so I've been working on it for about a year now)

So I'm going to have to say no to this campout. I hate it Joe, never been to the hill country.

This in the honest truth guys... Here's a post I did on the original GL1800 board back in 2001 shortly after I bought my first Goldwing and went by the board name "REDWING". The term "Three Sisters" spread like wild fire throughout the motorcycle community... There's variations of it (Twisted Sisters is one) but I'm proud to say "I did them first"!!! :D :D :D :D

In the Texas Hill Country - south of Interstate 10 and West of Kerrville lie ?Three Sisters? that will provide any rider much more pleasure than ever imagined possible. Weather this is your first time in the saddle (a true novice) or you are a seasoned veteran, the ?Sister?s? generous curves, unexpected dips, captivating sweet aromas and awe inspiring beauty will fill your heart and you will be 100 percent in love.

Of course I am referring to three of the most loved and often ridden roads in the entire state of Texas. Ranch Roads 335, 336 and 337 (affectionately referred to as the ?Three Sisters?) are arguably the best in the state. Connected in one fashion or another by Ranch Roads 187 and 1050 or state highways 16 and 39, the ?Sisters? are truly a full day (maybe two) of pure pleasure.

Yesterday, myself and a friend departed San Angelo at 7:30 AM headed for what we knew would be a full day of riding and taking in all the beauty the fall season displays. Exactly nine hours ? and 462 miles later we were back feeling very satisfied and a bit worn out. I mean, we had one of those ?man I?d love to do that again but don?t have the energy? looks.

The only thing that spoiled even a moment of the ride was news at a pit stop of an accident along our route. We couldn?t tell exactly what had happen because all was cleared when we arrived but it appears a fellow rider on a Harley took a spill on one of the ?Sisters? curves. We could only pray the ride will be OK.

Those of you that have ridden the ?Sisters? know what I say ? the rest of you need to come ride with me??

JERRY ?REDWING?

Cool! That's an awesome park Mellow, I've been there. I'll be at Inks lake state park. If you venture off in that direction, stop by and I'll gladly cook up a burger for you. Don't know what spot we'll get assigned yet, but ask the park ranger at the gate where Scott McKnight is and roll on in! I'll be towing my bike behind the 5th wheel. Park road 4 is a beautiful ride and so is Willow City loop, both are close to the park.

Jerry, I'm in Abilene and love riding the hill country area. Would love to ride with you sometime. Shoot me a pm next time you ride down there and I'll see if I can make it. I like to base out of the armadillo farm in Luckenbach and hit the 3's from Bandera.

Just get off the bike and move seems to help a lot .
Its not the bike as much as staying in one postion for too long and I get stiff.
Wish that problem was less often ,never thought I would be saying that LOL

The good thing about that part of the Hill Country is you can ride 20 miles and get off at an overlook and do that all day if you like.

;) But dont want to slow up other too much unless its for food;)

I rode from wimberly to austin about a hour and was just a little stiff so its not every 20 min just more than normal for me .
Bikes packed just have to figure how to close the side bags LOL
I have most of it in the side bags and just a softside cooler and the tent poles on top.
Fill up the camelbak and maybe one small bag cause I can and I head out to work for a couple of hours then on the road .
Its not too bad as its onpy a couple of hours away from work .

Good Deal.. I just have to cinch down the bag and check the tire pressure and I should be ready.. we've got a line of storms moving through but looks like they will be here and gone and dry before I leave. Have a safe trip.

Just kidding Mac as I would need it half the time .
there is a knack to starting a fire with bad wood .

I also found this site for pictures of the three sisters .
