View Full Version : Slime Air Compressor
This isn't really a review as I just picked this up today.
I found a small tire inflator (air compressor) at Meijers. Packs small with it's own case and seems to be fairly well made. Will do 300 psi but I would assume from the size that it would take a while. I am looking at this as an alternative to using CO2 cartridges to repair a flat.
This comes with several ways to power it. One is the same hook-up as the Battery Tender. Very handy.

I have heard some good reviews on this thing and will try it out when I get a chance. Hopefully not on the road somewhere.
EDIT: Forgot to add price. $29.99

Cool, have heard/seen them but didn't know they came with so many connections - no bmw plug though which is what I have/use.
I got a cheap air compressor at wal-mart, blue and I think it was $15. It's bigger than the slime one but they all work pretty well. I'd never rely on CO2 cartridges as you've only got as many shots as the number you bring and this is unlimited as long as you have a source of power.
Thanks for the heads up.

I got the Slime too. (Around here, that's a good thing:D ) I just nipped the cigaretto connection and put on a right angle powerlet plug.
Other than plugging it in and running it for a few seconds to test my plug I haven't had to inflate a tire with it yet. :)

I picked one up a Autozone... forgot the price but it wasn't too bad. I have used it to inflate a soft tire and it works just fine. Good tool to add to the kit.

I have one and used it to top off my tire on a trip overnight,
Seemed to work well .
Someday when I get a battery tender I will hook up that connection.
It is rated pretty high by most andit did well in some test a while back .

I have one. It has bailed me out twice after a flat on the road. I don't leave home without it.

There is a thread about this on the ST-Owners forum that had a link to a Motor Cycle News comparison. The Slime unit was rated as the best "value". Here is the link to the test/comparison.

I'm planning to order one soon.

I just picked up one of these at Schucks Auto Parts for $9.99. Seems like it will serve its purpose when needed.

Along with a plug kit from Wal-Mart.
Both have already saved me once.
