I spent the weekend in Luckenback at the Armadillo Farm Campground. It's a nice friendly place and an excellent location for hill country riding just a few minutes from Fredericksburg. The rates are only $7.50/night for tent camping and they even supply the logs for a fire at night. It has twobathrooms with showers and cabins. It's a small simple campground at an excellent location next to to Luckenback town loop. If you want to ride the hillcountry or tour the many events around Fredercksburg or just sit around the fire and listen to the music, this is the place.

You're reading my mind again (short story)...

I couldn't find how many campsites they have but it would be a cool MotoCampers weekend.:fire3:

Jetfixer, I saw this on the events section of that campground site:

"The Armadillo Farm Campground is where people come to party and get that "In-Tents" experience."

Was this your impression of this place? Typically, when I camp I'm not looking for a place near any 'party'. Just a nice quiet area. I've been to Luckenback before and depending on when you go, a nice quiet place isn't to be found for miles.

The Luckenbach I've been to was spelled with an H instead of a K. Are we all talking about that little town north of Bulverde?

Thay have a big fire pit everybody hangs out at night and parties. There's a remote area of the campground high up a hill that's far enough away you probably wouldn't hear anything if you want privacy. They don't always have parties, it pretty much depends on who's camping at the time. It's a decent place for a good price at an excellent location.

Thank you sir, that's good to know.. I guess to avoid too much noise keeping an eye on their events page and going when nothing else seems to be happening is a good approach for those of us not into crowds. ROT weekend would probably not be a good time to go.. LOL

I do want to try this one out in the future, thanks again for the review.

+1 on avoiding the crowds. I try to schedule around any events, my ideal campground is an almost empty campground (even the bears can stay away).
